That's correct Grassy I did buy from Tim. He has been a good dealer for me to depend on.

Sorry Kim, I paid $1,750 for just the Stellarvue scope and approx. $200.00 more for the dovetail, rings, and weight set that you see underneath the scope. The rings are Losmandy but all the other hardware is from ADM.

Glen

So far yes. I have not been able to image yet through the Stellarvue except a couple quick snaps of the moon through some clouds. Hopefully tonight it will be clear so I can finally image. As far as the RCX goes, I am very satisfied with it. It has had a couple of quirks which have now been worked out, but overall I have loved using it.

It's so smart! What's the counterweight system?

ADM rails top and bottom, and ADM counterweights. Came with the scope (I bought it used)

Such a nice scope you have! I wish one day I can photo the RCX myself. Something off topic here, is ADM better than Losmandy?

ADM is cheaper than losmandy for essentially the same stuff. They make rings too that are a lot cheaper than Losmandy's DR- series. I think ADM is plenty good enough, Losmandy might be more stiff but the plates are not under enough stress to matter. How would I know, a person is not strong enough to flex those plates, would need a lab to test it. Basically ADM is plenty good enough for me.

Nick, it's such a great one! I noticed that you purposed rotates the DSI for this photo. In normal sequence, the filter bar will be blocked, am I right? Hehe~

Hi Kim,

No the OTA doesn't rotate that far back, and as far as rotating forward the dew shield would hit long before the filters did!

Nick

Actually I meant you purposely rotated the filter bar because it will hit the dovetail bar. Anyway, stupid question asked. An RCX400 is really nice.

The camera's are on loan, the new dome is being built and I'm off work for the next 3 weeks so I have some random stuff at home (my wife hates it..)

Overkill for a guide scope
