They are going to have to be reposted by the bwskyward. There was a glitch. I have informed him of this.

Use your imagination. The OTA is on order and will fill the missing void.

BWskyward here,
Ok, I'll give this another try. Sorry for my goof!! Here is my RCX at Griffith Observatory about 2 months ago. And if I did it right a night shot in my driveway. I'm still not sure about the 2 attachment thing in one post. If this does not work I'll try the 2 posts thing again. I apologize in advance if I screwed up again.

That's a particularly nice picture with the Griffith Park observatory in the background, BW! Thanks for getting it back up on the thread.

There's nothing wrong, the attachment system only allows one attachment per post. this is you uploading a file from your hard drive to the CN webserver. I wondered how people got multiple stuff in one post but then I realized that the files must be on their *own* web server, and when people post they just used fancy html code to show you the picture on *their* web server not CN's. So relax nothing is wrong and if you get more pictures feel free to add them here, one at a time is a-ok!
When you start taking pictures through the scope and not "of" the scope, then a new thread is definitely appropriate, either here or in any of the imaging forums.

Bwskyward: Did the observatory allow you to drive your vehicle up that wide sidewalk or did you have to carry it some ways????

Hi Bert,
BWskyward here. No, we can not drive up the sidewalk. However we are allowed to drive up to within about 300 feet of the grass area you see in the picture. The observatory staff provides heavy duty carts for us to move our equipment around. The observatory does not allow the public to drive up to the observatory now. That all changed after their major remodel. The public must park "down" the hill, in specific parking areas, and then they are brought up by trams. I'm very fortunate to be a member of the "Los Angeles Astronomical Society" and once a month we are invited to the observatory for a star party for the patrons. We are permitted to drive up and unload then are able to park not very far away. It is a great outreach and a lot of fun. The last star party I attended, I had over 250 people look through my telescope. It' just a blast ! Here is another photo. You can see a car in the background. That's where we unload at.

Hi Joseph,
BWskyward here. I have some pictures taken "through" the RCX using a Nikon 8700 digital camera. I'll go over to the digital imaging fourm and try to post a few photos. I'm no expert at the astro imaging thing so they are not great photos.

Phil, are you working on a roll off roof shed? If so, looks like it is coming along quite well, you should post some pics of it in the observatory forum.
