Thanks Guys.

As Nick will testify my journey has been somewhat difficult at times.
It has taken about 1 year from the observatory being built to be up to my satisfaction, leaking dome, leaking door handle, floor not waterproofed, changed my telescope, 2 power failures with the Paramount, and various other little bits.
But please don't pity me too much, as now I have a wonderful place to observe. If I can only sort out the dewing issue on the big meade it would be perfect.....

You know you want one Nick. They truly are fantastic. They take all the hassle out of tracking. I know there are several who swear by Astro Physics, well I'm more than happy with the Paramount and the guys at Golden are brilliant.

Many thanks for the comments and a Happy New Year to all.

Cheers, Neil.

Hey Crims,

Hefty setup there. What have you been able to accomplish with it? Done any astrophotography? What kind of mount are you using?

I know I'm responding to an old post, but I was just going through the pictures of everyone's setup and came across this one with the flames on the side of the scope. I must say, that's about the coolest thing I've ever seen. I love it!

Thanks for the belly laugh!

Nice setup, sir! What kind of refractor do you have as your finder?

The little black one is a StellarVue SV50. I also use the A&M 105 (Blue scope on top)as a finder/guide scope.

WOw that is some setup!

The white/gold-trimmed WO Megrez 90 I had looked very out of place on my but I think you've found the right refractor to go with yours!

With all that weight and the Meade wedge which doesn't have the reputation of the Mitty/Milburn, are you getting good CCD images yet?

I have not had the opportunity Yet. I just received the Sbig ST4000XCM and AO8 the other day. Providing the weather starts cooperating in the next few weeks, I will be able to try this set up soon.
The setup looks a lot heavier than it actally is. The A&M 105 refractor is only 10 lbs and the entire sbig set up with addition of the VSE focuser is only another 6lbs. So far in visual mode this mount/wedge configuration has been rock solid for me. Hopefully it will be as solid for ccd imaging.
