Mmmmmmmmmm baked beans!!!!
Yup - just giving credit when credit's due! (sg line) I too am looking forward to my first light - maybe tonight! (don't place any bets) I can't believe that I drove through 6 hours of sunny weather yesterday only to be shut out by clouds last night. No wait, I *DO* believe it - this is April in the Pacific Northwet.
I'm sure the mirror's just fine - one barely perceptible tiny smudge only if you're looking for it - no scratches at all - I'll let the dust collect and then give 'er a light cleaning down the road. I waxed the pole guides on the UTA and it made 2-handed assembly much easier - or maybe it was just a bit more practice. I think I'll wax the Az while I'm waiting for clear skies. I also ordered a 2" Balckcat from Jim Fly after seeing yours in action.
Hey Rob (need to tie in to the GOMOC thread somehow)- have any need for a laser collimator at GOMOC? And I'll be there whichever night is the popular choice - either Fri or Sat - I'll just be coming off a long family camping trip over the 4th so my hall pass account will look flush

Rob, it's too early for pinpoint planning, but unless the sky falls in (hmmm, maybe not best phrase) I'll probably be over there around 9:00 Fri., after my 6:30 - 8:00 drumming. Maybe I'll bring some dessert?

Rob, I'd wager a Saturday noon arrival, leaving Sunday morning pretty much like last year. I'll bring a munchkin, too. Is a bike for daytime use only OK?

I can't wait to see that scope in action again.... You are very blessed, it is a fine instrument..
a Laser collimator will be just the ticket, since my newt still needs someone to assist in its collimation...
I can *wing* it, but a good expert needs to get in there.
Cool.

Keith, a bike is way OK. Bring any toy the munchkin needs. Bring sand digging stuff, I have a nice large sand pile the kids can dig in... There is also creek jumpin, and lots of adventure. My daughter will aid in keeping things safe and fun.
Play-n-Fun fer all....

Rob... no family to join me. But that's ok. I have good friends in the Astronomy world!
Might be able to talk a friend into coming along. At this point I'd count on only me.

GOMOC BBQ update!
I bet that got your attention.....
I need to know how many CN'er will be attending GOMOC's grand opening on July 6th/7th?
Also I need to know schedules. If folks are coming Friday let me know, if Saturday, let me know.
This is the schedule....Listen up.
We will be Opening Friday Afternoon for those wanting to participate that evening. If you are coming Saturday, let me know the times. I want to schedule the BBQ when EVERYONE is there. If you're only coming on Saturday, come early. I plan on BBQing around 2:00-4:00, and then allowing time to socialize, and relax while setting up gear. Or if your gear is already set up for some solar viewing then, all the better.
Now here is the fun part...I'm providing all the steaks for my CN buddies I'll be the chef..you bring the other goodies if you need other goodies. I will have soda. Libations are permitted at a minimum, as long as you use discretion, and wisdom..have fun. No keggers. please Remember... family time.
Just look at it like a big BBQ Potluck thingy..
Rob
Rob I will be there. AND I'll bring my much acclaimed Potato Salad for the potluck.
I will let you know if I'll be there on Friday for sure. May just break out the tent rather than drive the motorhome over this time.

Great! PS is my fave....
Tents are no problem. I have a place designated for them. And there is easy access to the Bathroom from the back door of my office. You have a choice of several locations...

Rob, I will need directions. And as it gets closer to July I may just wimp out and bring the mh anyway. Depends on Gas Prices as this thing only gets 8 gallons to the mile. Its my idea of "roughing it" ... no room service...
Anyway, if you pm the directions to me I would be most appreciative.
