OK, the suspence is now over Rob!...

I thought you may be able to use this live video imaging system I put together a while back. It consists of two B&W 1\3 CCD cameras and a high resolution monitor. The cool thing is that the single cable powers the cameras and has the video back to the monitor. Each cable is 60 ft. long.
The monitor will handle up to 4 cameras, but I found that one on the main scope and one on a wide angle finder works very well. It gives fantastic views of the planets, sun & moon.
This system was the second phase in my quest of live view video astronomy, and as such was only used a dozen times.
It has the 1-1\4" chrome barrels for insertion into diagonals.
This should be a great visual for a large crowd (GMOC) to view the above mentioned objects. Total power consumption is only 60 watts, so it can be taken on the road too. Just an inexpensive power inverter, (I used a $30 one to power it in the field a few times.) is all thats needed. The CCD's are so sensitive that I had to use a barlow and or a moon filter.

I'll drop it off on Thursday.

Thanks Rob, for putting together a soon to be great observing center!

Kerry.

Is this the system that (the now apparently defunct) ApogeeInc had for sale for a while?

Nope. This one is way better. I had this one several years before Apogee was even in business.

Oh man, Kerry...this is sweet...
I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. This is a great tool, for parties, and even personal use.
The camera I built doesn't have the resolution, and sensativity these have. Thanks for the donation buddy...

See you on Thursday, and I'll give you a bit more of an inspection of what I have planned for the site....

Well Kerry just left a few moments ago, and he delivered to me a very nifty video system for the scope. It will be a welcome added system to GOMOC's astro inventory.

As usual, we laughed, and took advantage of the short visit to catch up on all that is astro. We talked about drive systems, and figuring out how to control drive motors....

As quickly as he arrived, patient's needs ended our visit.. :

We got to talking so much about projects, that the time slipped by and I didn't get to give him the tour of GOMOC.

Well next Monday we will have logged, and He can come back for that tour.

Thanks Kerry....Lots.

A view of the BBQ area. There is a nice open roofed prep area, and grass, plus a storage shed for chairs and such.

That's nice, Rob. Very impressive. Very enviable.

I can't wait to visit again.
