Hello All,
I've been digital astro imaging for a year or so, some early and more recent attempts at: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/t.allnutt/astro/ I've just started autoguiding, which seems to be working (see page three of above). The problem is, my Vixen SP mount can take the weight of my TAL150P and Surplus shed 80/f5 homemade guide scope which I can only mount where normally my finder would be. I'd really like to mount the finder too - but no space and too much weight!! My question is, does anyone mount their guidescope on their GEM counter balance arm, thus also acting as counter weight? I'm aware that you need another balance arm to keep the dec axis balanced. Are their any commercial gadgets to do this or does anyone have any nifty solutions? Ideally I'd like the guide scope to be fine adjustable too. i've been looking at various camera ounts to canibalise but not found anything suitable yet. Any solutions gratefully recieved.
Thanks,
Theo
