Cool new website for sharing and uploading videos dedicated exclusively to astronomy.. It's just starting up so there are only 67 videos in the entire library for now, but with help from all of us we can make it huge.
Check it out.... www.astroshorts.com

What a great idea. Nicely done. I think it will be one of the most viewd sites of astronomy in a short time.

Part 2 should load fine now. There were some tweaks done on the hosting server end. The service was cutting out a little now and then but it should be fine now. If there are any problems in future let us know. We really want everything to work as smoothly as possible. Note -Part 3 and 4 will be up this week. Thanks everyone for taking a look. That's good to hear.
Any new site is bound to have some bugs to work out, but I think everyone really wants to see it get big, so we're willing to work through it.
Welcom eto CLoudy Nights and be sure to keep us posted!

Interesting. Think they'll let us upload planetary capture videos?
The "Springtime on Mars" was a pretty funny clip.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Planetary capture videos? If it's amateur astronomy video of course it should be on Astroshorts. We want more video by amateurs so we can all share and learn. The NASA and humorous stuff is fun, but it's not what we're aiming for. The whole idea is that we learn and get inspired by what others are posting. Yes, it's my website but it's for you to use. Please do upload. I'd love to see more amateur vids of all types. It's important that people see what the average person can do with a little bit of equipment, a little know-how and in interest in astronomy.

NEAF part 4 of "News In Space" will include a visit to the Meade booth with the 20in RC and the MAX mount. It's not indepth but nice to see nonetheless. The video will be up within 24 hours. AstroShorts.com Steve

We have now upgraded to a dedicated server and have changed hosts for a more stable experience. On the previous host we had occasional dropouts which became apparent on longer video. After trying to fix this with the previous host we decided to change. I've been viewing the videos this weekend and it all seems to load and play well. Let me know if there is any further trouble. Thanks! Steve www.astroshorts.com

Well, they use a different compression scheme than Youtube, and it doesn't bungle up the images nearly as badly so I'll give them ten points for that. It bleaches the colors out of stars but that's an acceptable tradeoff.
