It's interesting that they are starting with 13mm. The 13 T6 is a real star in the Nagler lineup. Also, the Meade 14mm (close to 13mm) 4K was the star of that lineup. I wonder if that FL has some particular quality from an EP design point of view.

They missed 82° and lagging behind again !
It would be interesting and inspiring what the Japanese could present.

From their small presence in the U.S., it seems that Pentax focuses their astronomical products on the domestic Japanese market. Their observing priorities, and thus equipment requirements, may be different from ours.

Well, it was the "first" nagler, and it's a good focal length in most telescopes.

From what I understand, 0.965" EP use is still quite common and many eschew using diagonals in refractors. Perhaps wide fields indeed aren't a priority.

I've been looking for a 12-14mm EP for quite a while now as it gives about a 2mm exit pupil in my f/6 scopes and about the maximum mag for the average night in the SCT. One EP that works perfectly for both scopes.

I really like my current 12mm UO Konig for it's 60° FOV and especially it's very high transmission and contrast, however a larger FOV and better edge correction in the F/6 scopes would be a *very* nice upgrade. My second Televue EP (after my rarely used 4.8mm T1 Nagler) will probably be the 13mm Ethos.

Assuming it's ~$500.

And yes, the 13mm T6 Nagler was at the top of my list before I read this thread.

If you want the best eyepiece in this focal range, so far for me it's the 14mm Denkmeier. An outstanding eyepiece.

I've just started reading about the Denkmeier 14mm EP here and other places - it sounds quite promising!

Well, if you want one, you might want to get one. I talked to Russ at NEAF, and he said they have a limited amount of lens sets left and they may not re-order. Evidently that one is a bear to get together cleanly and correctly.

I wear thin glasses, and I was able to see the full field while wearing them. The eye relief certainly seemed like a full 15mm to me. Certainly more than the 12mm of the Nagler Type 6.
