Ice, Just wanted to drop a note and let you know that you did a great job on your first try at a website. I'm impressed, well laid out and very easy to move around in.

I like your website. Reading your observing log makes me realize just how much we miss out on up here at 53 degrees north of the equator. Anything in scorpius and sagittarius are elusive targets.
Looking at pictures of your Bintel, I see that it is identical to the "Sky Mentor" I just purchased last week. In fact, the mount has changed slightly - with handles cut into the side panels and the eyepiece rack mounted in the front panel (it must be a very recent change, because the instructions were still for the mount like yours) I have had it out a few times already, and and impressed. I am waiting to see how it preforms for lunar/planetary observations.
Like yourself, I utilized the foam inserts to transport the scope in my minivan. I am considering attaching them to a piece of wood, and making a simple cradle for transporting the scope or when it needs to be placed on the ground.

Extra nice website. I bet those binoculars give some spectacular views too. I can sit for hours panning thru Sagitarius and Scorpius with my 10×50's. I think I will eventually add some larger bore bino's like yours or maybe 20×80's.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
The 11x70's are just awesome for scanning the milky way, and I really am glad I got them before buying my scope, otherwise I never may have bought any and wouldn't have known what I was missing.
Being South does have its advantages, especially having Sag and Scorpius pretty much directly overhead for most of the night! hmm, except for the difficulty in aiming the dob at targets directly up!

Thanks for the feedback guys, it's a labour of love updating the site with new astro-news and new images etc, it can take some time but in general it's worth the effort when I receive positive feedback

Hi guys, thanks to all those who have visited and come back for return visits!
There's been a heap of changes over the last month or so, the IceInSpace forums are gathering momentum nicely (hope to see you there!), and on the main website there's now a reviews section, an "astronomy in the community" section, some new projects, some new images, etc.
The news on the front-page gives a bit more info about the changes recently.
Thanks!
