I am really impressed with the video Skip.

Why did my ancestors end up so far north in Canada???

Texas looks like to place to be if you are an amateur astronomer.

Hi François,

Yes I am pretty lucky to be here in Texas where we have somewhere around 300 clear nights a year (although parts of Arizona and New Mexico are better). However, with the bad winter weather we had a couple of weeks ago, some would argue with me.

It looks like a super club - I need to make it a point to visit when I come to Dallas to visit with my son.

It is a CPC1100. The ADM adapter is really intended for my AT72ED. I just couldn't resist putting the 6SE on there for a bit, too. Here's another from the front:

Hi mrki233:

Wow! Something about that arrangement that's a real eye-grabber! I guess it puts in perspective just how large that 11" sct really is. It's a beautiful thing!

John, I have a SkyScout and I purchased one of those interfaces that points the telescope to anything identified by the SkyScout.

Sandy, I have a SkyScout, too -- and I really like it; mine acqs the GPS sats quickly and even does it inside my (one story) house. Useful for bino astronomy, too. I expect it will really be enjoyable when I get away from these LP skies of L.A.

But why would you mount and use it on a scope which already has go-to capability?

Phil, mine isn't mounted. I believe somewhere along the line I saw someone who had one mounted and commented on it. I just keep it in my gear bag should I decide to use it during a given session. The more I get familiar with the skies, the more it sits in the bag.

Hi mrki,
Thats a great looking set up. Have you done much, if any, observing with the 6se perched on top?.

The CPC1100 is the scope I hope to end up with in the hopefully, not too distant future.

Thanks for posting.

Regards. Peter.

Here's a cool shot of the Neximage cam running through my 6SE. You can see the moon on screen. You can also see what kind of clouds I was dealing with, the tease you for a minute clouds followed by darkness, followed by tease, rinse repeat, etc.

Maybe you can see the moon on screen, but I can't. I see it up in the sky in your picture, but it's all a blur on the monitor of the laptop in front of you. Another Guinness night EH?

I do like the shot though. I still have not had a chance to try out my Neximage. Keep up the good errrrr work. Yeah, that's it, work.

New setup with Atik Manual Filter Wheel, loaded with Baader Moon & Skyglow, UHC-S and OIII filters, ready for Deep Sky. No more screwing and unscrewing. The 1.25'' wheel to eyepiece adapter is a Baader Click Lock (it works like magick).
The system can accommodate 5 1.25'' filters and I intend to load it occasionally with planetary filters, but mostly as is for Nebulas and light pollution countermeasures. There are 2 free places, I'll let one as is for viewing without filters and maybe load the other with Lumikon Deepsky.
When I want to use my 2'' oculars I remove the system together with the adapter from the WO 2'' diagonal. I might change to a 2'' wheel and filters in the future (then you'll have a new photo here).

Is the piece of hardware mounted on the dovetail rail (image attached) a piggyback camera mount or what? If it is for a camera, where did you purchase it? Looks interesting!
