New Astro Art Image
      #18232 - 11/05/03 08:30 AM Attachment (134 downloads)

Hello Everyone,

This Image is my latest Astro Art pic!

I did an image a while ago i was never happy with then for the last 2 months i have been amending it and adding detail's to it. The Probe is Voyager 2 and i thought it would be dramatic to see it just before it plunges to it's death on a Alien world.

Image Title: Voyager 2's last encounter.

Materials used: Photoshop 5 and then 7 plus Oil Paint's and Pencils. And a Public Domain Photo.

Completed: 5th NOVEMBER 2003

Enjoy

James

This is a really neat picture. I like the oil paint work in combination with photo work. Also this is a good concep for a picture, it makes me think about what it would be like to be a probe:grin:. Also I like how a you kind of worked your name into the design.

There almost looks like there is a civilization on this world.

It really looks like a complete composition :applause:

The Whale picture is really pretty neat. Nice colors and the reflectoin fits right in. If I were a little higher quality (probably like it was before you posted it in a <60k form) I would think it could be a photograph. I could imagine something like that as a poster on my wall. Neat concept too, makes me wonder about planets that are made entirely of oceans. I would think there would be more clouds because of all the water, but that wouldn't make as nice of an image:) Besides this is astroART:)

Terraforming is one of my favorite futuristic topics:) This is an interesting picture and the blue green is nice, but I don't really understand what is happening. I know I'm worrying about silly technical things but that is the way my science and art mind works. Please explain what you were thinking when you made the terraforming pic.

Good work all around, and you really seem to get good inspiration for topics!

Hi Astro,

I know I'm worrying about silly technical things but that is the way my science and art mind works. Please explain what you were thinking when you made the terraforming pic.

Whilst thinking of the idea of terraforming i came up with an idea of a planet terraformed with the use of transporters, Water held in huge tank's telepotered so that it would hover over the planet and pour water onto the land. The Bubble shaped object's you see on the ground are Expander's when the water meet's with these the water molacules copy them selve's over and make a planet like the Astro art image above full of water. After the terraformtion's are added life then can be brought to the planet. I know this is whacky but thats me!lol.

Well i am off to blow my nose as i have the FLU!

Regards

James

Glad you like it!:) :jump:

Regards James ps:sorry we havnt chatted for a while, i will email you later:) [/quote] James, I aspire to doing stuff like this! I'd like to get into astrophotography and use my own images as source material. I never seem to get the time to play about though - I see much organising is needed in my life. :-) Somebody gave me a Logitech (CMOS) webcam they bought but never used, so I'm about to operate on it and see if I can modify the case for astro use. I liked your recent Saturn images, we were swamped with mist here last night. The skies were brilliant from my friend's garden but by the time I had driven home at 100mph it was all misty! LOL! Such is life . . . :-) I use Photoshop a lot in work but have never really played about with the filters, I'm hoping the astrophotography will force me into finding the time for experimentation. Jason PS: How do I enable UBB code?!

Hi Jason,

Sounds like you may be very busy with that webcam. The use of filters in photoshop is a must esp when just starting out with Astro Art. How i turn on ubb code? by default it is supposed to be on, i will see what i can do:).

James,

I may be calling on your advice (re: filters) then when I get up and running! I use layers and masks all of the time but have never needed to use filters. I guess a good start would be to look through the manual.

James, These images are incredible. Thank you for them. I can't even imagine the amount of work it would take to do them. The artistic talent I have to create visual works wouldn't even fill a thimble
