American Snowmobiler Replacing Astronomy Magazine?
      #1874869 - 09/29/07 09:11 PM

We were surprised to get a copy of American Snowmobiler in the mail today. Oddly, it seems to have our Astronomy magazine mailing label on it. Both are published by Kalmbach. I wonder if subscribers to American Snowmobiler will be getting copies of Astronomy?

Clear skies, Alan

Hmmm I got a copy of Tattoo World, and I was wondering the same thing.

I guess so. I wonder if other folks were treated to American Snowmobiler. The label has 'ASY' and the exipration date for our Astronomy subscription, so it seems something got mixed up - unless they are sending us all free copies in hopes of drumming up some customers.

Clear skies, Alan

Hope I don't get one, snowmobiles are rather few and far between here. In that I live in the middle of the Israeli desert, we get snow about once a winter.

My Astronomy arrived in no. Calif today. The real thing not "Amateur Brain Surgeon" or what have you. Mine, however, had a green survey attached to the middle with lots of questions relating to who I am. Looks like they are trying to determine their demographics rather than asking about content, etc. Did everyone else get one in theirs? At least those that got Astronomy?
Peter

It wasn't in mine. Have you been up to something that the Feds would be worried about? Like using a laser pointer to play with your cat I would not submit finger prints regardless of the explanation they provide.

Astronomy came yesterday-I was looking forward to Tattoo World and thinking of adding all 88 Constellations to my body and then touring the star parties for a presentation.

Maybe next month.

Good thing the IAU stepped in and called a halt at 88 constellations (Hydra might have to be shortened a bit)

No survey in my copy of the November Astronomy either which arrived in the door yesterday.

Happy Sputnik 50th anniversary everyone!

Kalmbach doesn't publish Tatoo World, so you are unlikely to have had your wish granted.

I wonder what the subscribers to American Snowmobiler who got Astronomy thought? (Astronomy said there was a mixup for some subscribers to the two magazines.)

Clear skies, Alan

I was just wondering whether or not anyone had gotten around to asking Astronomy what was going on.
