Markus,

I made my L-bracket out of 1/2" aluminum stock and I added a small triangle for support. It's extremely stiff and easily held my 28lb BT100s. It's shown with the 16lb 20x100 GO binos.

Markus, you need to spend less time working on your binocular mount, and more time to mow the grass. Just kidding. I really admire those of you who are handy and can work on their own design. I am totally TLC challenged, hence rely on commercial product completely.
