I mean double woooo-hooooo. A new hand controller steeped in innovation, I've been waiting for this nearly a year. (Maybe everybody knows about this and I missed it.) It's a..... ah.... HP Pocket PC with my most favorite software "The Sky" on it for 495. And I was waiting for something like the CGE or Meade hand controller. I love my Tak stuff but I might wait on this purchase.
Come to think of it, I've already got one. One I can BlueTooth to the mount. One year of hopeful anticipation....

It might work out for you - but I tried Pocket Sky on an IPAQ years ago to control various field mounts and hated the tiny screen. That IPAQ is still here somewhere but I didn't bother to dig it out when I got the EM-200; whatever the best answer is for portable use, that isn't gonna be mine. someday.
I picked up the original THC but haven't had time to play with it much so I dunno whether it's my answer, either. Maybe I'll do a quickie comparo between those schemes

Hi John. I have a fit with zooming in on The Sky in both the PC and Pocket PC versions. If I want to zoom in on a galaxy to find a close star to sync on I draw a box around the object and tap in the box to magnify. The orientation always is off and sometimes the object isn't even in the box. This capability is also very important if you are trying to determine which side of Meridian an object is to setup for photography. It has to be something I'm doing but it's in all my versions of the Sky (Orion, Celestron, Sky 6, Pocket PC, etc.)
I downloaded Astromist last night and that might be the answer. He's done a lot of work on it and it looks good. I'd just like to have a handbox like controller when using the NJP at a remote site.
