I've been using Yashica cameras ever since I inherited one, and used it through out college with great results. Since then, I've decided to try astrophotography, and I'm going to need morror lockup for relatively short exposures. I started looking for an OM-1, even though I have several Yashica lenses, and I'm familiar with the FX units. Just for kicks, I googled "Yashica mirror lockup", and found out that one of my cameras has it! Sorta.
If I set the self timer, the mirror automatically flips up, and the shutter opens up about 10 seconds later. That might buy enough time to slow down the vibrations. Itried it on the bulb setting, and it worked just fine. The FX-2 I have did not have this feature. The Yashica's aer highly underrated duplicates of Contax cameras, and Zeiss lenses are available. Best of all, they're dirt cheap. My FX-2 came with a 135mm, 35mm, and a 50mm multicaoted lens with several filters and a bag for $26.00.
