My first shots - M29, how can i make this better?
      #194450 - 09/11/04 11:57 PM Attachment (271 downloads)

Ive just gotten into taking photos through my telescope, and this was the first clear night that i got everything running smoothly! (i tried the Plieades the other night but my batteries were too low to track correctly) How does this image look? Im still trying to get the hang of stacking photos. My setup is as follows-
ETX-70
Canon G2
Scopretronix Maxview40 eyepiece/adapter
F/2.5
5 second exposures
ISO400
9 stacked images in Registax, and modified with PS7.
Noise reduction with NeatImage.

My area is severely light polluted to the point that i could barely see any stars through the 40mm eyepiece. I was overjoyed that the camera picked up an image!

Tony

Pretty good shot of M29. It could be centered a little better , but you're on the right track.

Keep it up!

It looks fairly fantastic! I'm jealous! Stars are pointy, you can see the color in the stars

I noticed some reddish pixels near the center of the image... First I assumed it was just noise, but when I looked it up, that would be the IC1318B I think....
