Zodiacal light is well before twilight, and it usually get dark again just before twilight begins. It also usually is a quite narrow, angled along the ecliptic. My shot of it is HERE. I'm not saying it isn't though - as I have little personal experience except for this one shot I grabbed at 0330 AM. Even the roosters started to crow as they thought the sun was coming up - but then after a 1/2 hour it got dark again.
