The region around the center star in Cassiopeia
      #1972124 - 11/08/07 11:46 PM Attachment (37 downloads)

Here is a photo I took of the center star in Cassiopeia. It was with a Minolta 35 prime focused to a Celestron C6n f/5 reflector. I used Fujia Sensia 400 film for a few minutes. Exposure time unknown. I was just trying to get a good photo without star trails. The scope has the dual axis motors added.I've been working on how well I can get the scope polar aligned.

It is! It was the only good picture out of 24. My shots of the m31 were all star trails. Maybe I can pass them off as meteors! I have a 80 short tube attached on top of the scope. But, I don't have a reticle eyepiece for guiding. On this shot, I was hoping to caputre IC 59 and IC 63.

You can make a reticle fairly easy. I took the focal stop out of an old ep that I had a duplicate of, and super-glued some of my daughter's blonde hair to it. I can throw a bright star out of focus to make it look big, and the cross-hairs stand out over it. Nice spikes on the star, btw.

I could do that with a 10mm plossle. The eye relief is too small for my eyeglasses anyway. Thanks!

here's the photo of the wide view. It was witha canon rebel ti with the lens set at 75mm piggybacked to the scope. It was for several minutes only because a plane was approaching the area.
