Kodak E100S new
      #1974999 - 11/10/07 11:48 AM

I've got an old unexposed roll of E100S that's been in the refrigerator for several years. If I remember correctly, the "S" stands for saturated.
I accidentally wound the film all the way in, and never got around to pulling the leader out.
Would this be suitable for widefield ap?
If so, what would an average exposure time for such a slow film be for the Cygnus region?

On a side note, Ritz has some E100 in stock, locally.

I also found a roll of fuji Velvia 50, But I'm pretty sure that won't work too well.

I used a roll of Elite Chrome 100 in October 2006. It recorded poorly compared to E200. You could get some o.k shots of Cygnus since this is a "bright" region. Shoot at f/2.8 or faster for at least twenty minutes or more if your sky is dark. If your going to buy a roll at Ritz, opt for the E200, or Elite Chrome 200 (much cheaper and works as well). If your looking to do short exposures on a tripod, I do not believe the E100 will work very good at all. Good luck.

When the E-100S and SW came out it worked well for astrophotography..
I still have about 10 rolls in the freezer.
At f/2.8 12min gave good images from a dark site and 30min at f/3.9. If I can find my box of slides I will scan some and post them.

I picked up a roll of E-100VS (very saturated), and attempted shots at 15 to 30 minutes last night through a 28mm lens @ f/2.8, and a 135mm @f/4. Just for kicks, i brought my TLR 6x6, loaded it with Fuji Velvia 100F, and shot some star trails. The TLR went for a piggy back ride a couple of times as well. What's the worst that could happen?
TXstars, if you can find them, I'd like to see them.

I posted two medium size file scans (30megs) to a test page on my site..
The files are too large to post here..
I will keep looking for more.

Thanks TxStars, I managed to get a couple peeks at your tests before my computer locked up. I thought It was great!

My E100VS is still in the camera. I took a few prime focus shots of the moon last night before the clouds rolled in. I want to finish up the roll soon, so I can see how poor my tracking is!
I've ordered 5 rolls of E200 from B&H, and it's on the way.
