LF widefields: I have a Lens new

Well its on its way at least. I managed to get a 300mm F4.5 Tessar of of Ebay for about $58. It should cover 4x5 with no problem and no fall off even when wide open (or close too it).

Next step will be convert a few film holders to vacuum backs.

Cool, that seems like a great price. Hopefully a decent mount will become available so you can get started. The CG-4 and CG-5 mounts with drives would probably do an adequate job for that focal length. Here in the states you can get them used for a good price. There was a CG-5 with RA drive that just sold here in Shop & Swap for $125. Unfortunately the shipping to Israel would run about $150.

I'm also considering large format so it will be interesting to see how things progress for you.

I have a Tachihara 4x5 with a Vacuum back made for me by a nice gentlemen. When my Tak p2z mount arrives I'm going to take it for a whirl.
