When bringing film in with astro images are there any special instructions to tell the folks processing the pics. Can the images be put on a cd similar to a digital image.

The best advice I have found here on this subject is to take a daylight photograph to start the roll, and maybe end the roll in daylight as well. This gives the lab a starting point to cut.
I have had labs scan them on cd's, and it seems to be ok.

What I used to do is to:
1. Ask them to NOT cut or mount the slides (I only shoot slide film). For negatives, I would just tell them to NOT cut them. Better safe than sorry!
If they will not do that - then you must do as tommy says and be sure to have one or two daylight shots at the beginning and end of the roll.
2. Then I would ask them to NOT make any prints. If they charge a lot for high quality scans, I would ask them to NOT make any until I ask them to. If their scans are cheap, do it.
3. If you didn't have any scans or prints made, then you should look at the slides or negatives with a loupe while still at the store. Then you can decide which slides or negatives you want high quality scans or prints made. If you get scans done, be sure to ask for the highest quality scans you can get. Often they give you low res scans unless you ask.
It's a good idea to bring with you a few negatives and prints that have been done successfully to show them what to expect. Almost all commercial developers have no idea what an astrophotographic negative looks like, and will assume it's a bad shot.
