Hi Chas ,
It's been a while since your question , but finally a fellow bino enthusiast actually got his new 12 x 50 Ultravids delivered yesterday ( Jan 23 -04 )
He will be posting a summary of his initial impressions as soon as the clouds clear on Astromart Birding ( no pictures) forum.
Because I know he also owns some very fine binos from Swarovksi and Zeiss , including the coveted "legends" Zeiss 15 x 60 B GA Ts , I am especially looking forward to his review.
Regards, Kenny.

Kenny as you might already know I recieved my 10x50s Friday and I feel they are the finest I have ever looked through, the only negative thing is there seems a bit of play in the focus wheel I remember reading of this problem with the Ba or BN models and was a little disapointed that it is in their new (flagship)model!

It's nice to hear you are pleased Chas.
Serious money gets you serious binos --right?
No binocular is PERFECT -- but a shame about that focus wheel -- that is the kind of "little" thing can be become a "bigger" thing , especially when everything else is good.
I hope it does not spoil your experienc with them.
Let us know how they "perform" Chas.
Regards --Kenny.
