Astronomy in "The Old Farmer's Almanac"
      #2023888 - 12/02/07 06:41 PM

There's a great beginner's article on astronomy in the 2008 version of the "Old Farmer's Almanac". Nicely written and informative.

I'm not familiar with the author, Bob Berman, but I applaud his efforts on behalf of the astro community for writing such a neat article, and the OFA for publishing it.

Probably the same Bob Berman as Astronomy magazine's columnist? Dunno. Is that article online or in the print version?

It's in the print version, I picked it up at the grocery store today. I get a kick out of the "old time" remedies and weather predictions. I don't take it any more seriously than I do the "National Enquirer", but it's kind of fun to read...

However, the astronomy article was great.

Would've also though Astronomy author - fresh and upbeat, even humorous, writing style?

That's the same Bob Berman who writes for Astronomy, and IMO is one of their biggest assets. I get the Farmer's Almanac every year, for the monthly tables. Very handy, and cheap.

I haven't looked at one of these in many years. I may have to check this one out.
