Rob(do you need a special monitor)?
Nope. A simple TV screen will do, but high-definition CCTV monitors will give better results.
Cheers!

Apologies for flagrantly ignoring the posting guidelines – Forgive me.
For those of a nervous disposition, please only look at the previously posted image with your left eye only, and there-by avoiding the processed part!

The image on the left looks better to me anyway... I like seeing the stars in the back ground, it looks more realistic. :O) Greg

I'd love it if they were stars Greg, but they are hot pixels which are a real issue during live viewing in hot countries!

Thought I'd share what a single frame from Ustream looks like. Not great by any means, but no equipment needed to pull it off, and no computer drive to store it on.

These were taken at French Camp last week (in between the clouds!)with a C11 on an Atlas mount using a MCHP B/W camera. All single raw frames with no processing. This is close to what was seen on the laptop.

And finally a neat grouping of three different galaxy types, edge on, elliptical, and spiral all in the same view. These pictures were taken using a f3.3 reducer except for NGC2419 and the Eskimo nebula. I believe they were at f10. Can't remember what fratio I used for M3.
