Thanks...
Greg.
The views are processed to remove warm pixels. I remove them by hand. I also adjusted the brigtness to my home office LCD screen. I found out at work today, that this is a bad idea, the Bubble looks teribble.
From my memory, the Elephant trunk, Bubble, Arp 148 and Coddington is single frames.
The other can be more than "one", it depends on the integration time. I think I took a snapshot every 5 secs. So If theres an overlap, yes. The reason I did that, was to find an esay way to remove "warm" pixel.
I think on most of the frames I took at almost full gain, which will show the pixels clearly.
Here is an example of the Elephant trunk, which I think is better. This is a raw capture from the sparkcast player, not adjusted in any way, raw from the sparkcast player.

Here is last nights session. Just trying to see if I can improve on the last visit to these parts of the sky. The higher these get the better the contrast, it seams.

I forgot to mention that all of these shots were grabed on the fly just using the Sparkcasts capture function. One of these days I guess I should get around to use my actual capture device to grab some images! I'm sure it would be better, but this is just too easy!

Thanks everyone! I'm really liking this setup. I'm even more on the fence now about getting the C14 with hyperstar now.

Neil,
Listen carefully to the whispers ... "more aperture" ... "faster F ratio" ... "tastes great" ... "less filling" ... ooops sorry.

WE just had two OUTSTANDING nights at Chiefland and one that was 'average". There were FOUR "Mallincammers" on the field!
As we gain more and more experience through trial & error with these devices, we're getting some images that far exceed what we thought was GREAT just a year ago. I still call them "images" (and, technically, they are) but it's really "enhanced observing" as opposed to traditional "imaging".
I had another "one of those moments" when the seeing and the tracking came together for an interesting image of M-57. There were so many stars either involved in or superimposed upon the nebula that Mike Zammit asked it they were really stars or 'hot pixels' or some other form of artifact.
I had to go to the HUBBLE ARCHIVES (!) to find an image that CONFIRMED they were truly STARS!
The image on my 10.4" Marshall screen (1.44 million pixels) was so sharp it looked 'etched'. The hand-held digital photo that I took of the monitor screen (as always) does not do justice to what was really seen (and the actual, observed, color balance did not come through in the photo - lots of blue missing).

I knew that Hubble had imaged Proplyds within the center of M-20. But I had never definitely detected them visually, even with scopes up to 32".
This week I decided to try with the Mallincam and zeroed-in on the center of M-20 with the 28" f/3.6 Starstructure.
The Proplyds are actually not so hard to see...with enough aperture...and, IF we know what we're looking for!
I realized that I actually HAD observed at least one, visually, in the past but didn't recognize it for what it was.
I've posted an image that is actually a digital photograph of the LCD screen (which was showing the original image from the scope) so it is inferior in quality to what we were actually seeing...but is still stunning.
Look for the largest of the Proplyds to the left of the 'nucleus'.
*Update: I also imaged M-20 with a Meade SN-8 w/MCHP.
The largest of the Proplyds is also visible in that image
(now that I know what it is!).
