Chris,
Did you record the video on your Archos and then grab the frames? What did you use to grab the frames? What focal reducers were you using?

Last night I had trouble sleeping so I sat down at the computer in our spare bedroom and fired up the obs. I observed the Moon for a few minutes until I got sleepy enough to go back to bed. (one click start-up & shut-down has its advantages).
It was fun to just jog the scope around the surface not looking for anything in particular..just looking. If the weather holds up I may remove the reducer so I can get a better look tonight. I like the moon.
The image below is one of the last observations before I called it a night..er morning.
Setting:
Camera: MallinCam Hyper Color Video camera

Yes Jack I used the Archos to record the images and then used Regitax to extract the images. For Jupiter, no Reducer and zoom at 2X, all the others MFR-3 with two 10mm rings. I do have a Meade 3.3 SCT reducter and I have the items per your example, except I'm using a 2" to SCT for the MCHP.

Jack, you nailed it! After taking these images I adjusted the APC and it took care of alot of it. I think the fastar lens was also bloating stars. I am hoping when I replace it with hyperstar, it will help. Collimation was wayy off too because the fastar isnt collimatable.

That was Jon's picture not mine. I just wondered how he got the happy faces. I've had cloud and rain the last couple of weeks so no pictures from me.

Thanks! The cheap-o $30 capture card on my PC came with a video recorder program called Honestech TVR. It's got a somewhat cheesy interface and overall feel to it, but seems to be working fine. Google it for their website. I was comparing caps with Honestech versus the free version of Screen Hunter and the Screen Hunter ones were not as sharp. I'd like to keep this whole image capture business on the cheap. At least I have something reliable to get the ball rolling.
