Congratulations Bart!! That is one of the most detailed photos of the Moon I have seen in a long time; it is as if I can just reach out and touch the surface.

Very nice indeed!!

Congrats Bart. You blew away all of us and the competition with that stunning "orbital" shot.

You truly deserve this one - no offense to the others whose images were awesome as well. The other contestants (myself included) were doomed from the start to be runners-up to a superb image like Bart's. The minute he uploaded it to CN, he won.

Congrats again Bart!

Thanks all for the votes! I've rarely got the seeing here in Belgium to produce images like this one, but that time I did, I'm still waiting for the magic combination of a high moon and excellent seeing, we'll see what I can get then :-)

To see the original mosaic at its optimal size, you can check it out here.

Bart, congratulations.

You captured one of those rave shots that push the amateur limits further and over time they become a legend.

Your shot is the proof of a new digital era that is already here. Just mind-blowing and jaw-dropping, man!

Bless you

Awesome work, Charlie, especially the image of the child (at 7 o'clock along the edge) sucking on a bottle!
