Im very much indebted to Claudio for providing some excellent links,so much so I thought I would start a new thread. There is even a photograph of the VERY hard to find Fujinon 10x50. I was amazed to find thanks to Claudio that the old Carl Zeiss Jena line of NOBILEM binocuars are still available, they go under the DOCTOR name nowadays. So click on the 3 links Claudio has provided on a reply to my CZJ 12x50 thread and enjoy these wonderful sights, there are photographs of some VERY rare instruments here and incredibly some OUTSTANDING Porro binoculars that I thought were deleated ages ago are STILL available! Well done Claudio Steve.

If you are going to start a new thread, perhaps you should repost the links you are referring to.

I too applaud Claudio for providing these most interesting links.
Being a regular user of the Deuscheoptiks web site over the past three years , I am perhaps in the minority of members being fully aware of the continuing availability of many of these "excellent value for money" binoculars.
To that end , I feel a little guilty now about not alerting other members to the forum.
I noted that ONE model conspicuous by it's absence amongst those summarised on the German sites is the 15 x 60.
Speaking of "German 15 x 60s" -- I must say it seems rather odd to me that the newer Carl Zeiss "west" BGA/T 15 x 60 , which received such glowing praise from Phil Harrington in his now famous April 2003 Sky and Telescope reviews, was so abruptly discontinued.
Yes , I KNOW that according to the Company Seven web -site , THAT model always WAS supposedly created strictly as a "limited edition" , but surely , if it's THAT good , it would have been in Zeiss interest to keep it available ?
Any other opinions ?
Regards , Kenny

Claudio posted several links here. Two of those links, one to Fan Tao's webpage and one to Holger Merlitz homepage, are included in our "Weblinks" post pinned at the top of the binocular forum.
