Paul, how do you like the Takahashi Epsilon 160? I'm picking up a 180 f2.8 up this week.

White on White on White really works for me. Excellent setup! That should be a poster shot for the EQ-6

Here's my new HEQ5 PRO. Used only twice since Dec. 20!!! due to lousy wx. Was out last night and tested out the Go-To, the first one I've owned. My other mount is an EQ-3 which has served me well. Just using a 127MAK and a 5" Newt but everything old is now new again. Love the Go-To.

Bob

The Tak Epsilon is an awesome scope for widefield imaging. Its a really quick scope f/3.3 with the 160. The tolerances for getting equipment to work with it is small, the main problem being forward focus. The space between the capturing chip and the corrector lens is very small.

I use the Epsilon with a DSLR and use it soley for widefield imaging. I use my WO FLT110 for closeup's and higher magnification imaging & video imaging.

If its widefield imaging you want to achieve, there are not many better scopes around, and its built like a tank.

Let me know how you get on with the Epsilon, you won't be disappointed.

That's a nice side by side setup, Crims! One thing would make it look nicer; get some 220 grit sandpaper and some flat black paint and paint that Losmandy counterweight. I did it with an 11lb weight I have and it makes it look terrific!

Wow John that is a gorgeous mount.

Now now, Mongolia would land right in that range. Kazakhstan, the Ukraine, much of Europe, not to mention our buddies in Minnesota!

Spyke.... what is that thing...? : ) A new catbox design? OK OK I know, this isn't the refractor forum.

Well here's mine. Not much just a 30 year old copy of an Optic-Craft Machine mount. Had my machinist fabricate it from scratch with O-C's literature and my personal modifications. Shafts are 3" mounted on 3/4" plate steel. Channel iron saddle with 60 lbs. of CW's and Parallax rings. Believe me this is way adequate for my needs. Absolutely no play and as smooth slewing as butter! Mike

Geez, you guys sure got a lot of money in this thread.

Can us poor people join in, too?

Mount #1 : EQ-1

Mount #2 : EQ-3

Mount #3 : CG5 Clone

Mount #4 : Super Polaris

Mount #5 : LXD75

Mount #6 : Does a fork mount count? 12" LX200R

Funny thing is I have enough scopes to go on all those mounts. I also have a torn apart Altaz mount in the attic in the garage. And about 6 different camera tripods.

Geez, this hobby sure can make a guy mental.
