Here are the DSLR & Digital Camera Astro Imaging & Processing Semi-Finalists in the CN Imaging and Sketching Contest for December 2007:

It's a composite of 6 exposure times: 16 frames each at 4, 7, 15, and 30 secs, 192 frames at 1 and 2 minutes.

Equipment: Celestron C102 refractor (500mm f/5), CG5 mount (unguided), unmodded Canon XTi, TC80N3 timer, Orion broadband LPR filter.

Pre-processed and stacked in Nebulosity. Composite created in Photoshop CS using "Blend If" layering.

This was a "First Light" for my new Hutech MN-74 and Modded 40D riding on my CGE. Guided with an AT66/DSI Pro/PHD combo

Darks and Flats
Calibrated in IP Version 3
Stacked in Registar
Final processing in PSCS2

this is a picture of the moon, and some clouds that it was illuminating. the clouds had many ice crystals in them, causing a rainbow-like effect.

4 sec. exposure
zoomed in to make the lens 44mm, F/4.5

Here is one widefield photo of Orion taken by Canon A560 digital camera on December 4th, 2007.

1x15 sec, 4 dark frames substracted
no tracking, no light frames, lots of light pollution and slight haze near ground.

My entry is a wide field exposure I made in the French Provence:

Canon Eos 20D
Canon 17-40mm f/4 L USM at 17mm f/4
621x 30s at ISO 1600
Tripod - no guiding
Processing in Star Trails and Photoshop
