Tooling through doubles in Cetus last night, came across what my COL lists at Struve 231. This pair of stars itself is attractive, but in the saame field at 115X is a very red star that made the view remarkable.
CdC calls it 66 Ceti, or STF231, and gives Magnitudes 5.72/ 7.71 and about 16" separation. There is a red star about 20 ' southwest, SAO129731, magnitude 9.04, with a Color Index of 1.47 and Spectral Class of K2. Likely this was the one.
The color, though, was quite marked.
Would be a good field for a sketch...

Mark,
Nice report. Good to hear you had clear skies.
