Do you like it Mike? I have been thinking about a 10 or a 12". I had a couple Mak deals on craiglist fall through because the persons did not keep their end of the bargain and sold it to someone else at a higher price. I dont mind that but people dont have to lie. aka My girlfriend sold the scope and I didnt know it. My response was how could she do that when you said it was at your work location in your office!

Hi Bill,
I have yet to put any light through it. My mount is still off being serviced. I should have the mount back by the end of this week and first light will follow that shortly. I'm impressed by the build and fit/finish of the OTA. I have owned Synta refractors and used Synta reflectors, and this Mak seems better built than most other Synta offerings.
Regards and clear skies,
MikeG
PS - dishonest sellers irk me as well. If they'd just be straight from the get-go, so much hassle could be avoided later.

Happy New Year all. Came in from Mars observing long enough to kiss the wife and drink some champagne. It was pretty chilly, though, and I finally came in shortly thereafter.
This is the Year of the Equipment Reduction for me. Otherwise I won't be able to continue to cohabitate in tranquility with my spousal unit.

The wife or the champagne? Never mind. Happy New Year to all. May 2008 be better than 2007 was.
