Challenging Art! new
      #2087439 - 01/01/08 12:13 PM

I don't participate here as I have yet to build anything of my own but I do lurk here and find this forum amazing.

One reliable source of comment is Art B. and I think there should be a "Challenging Art" phone in show (like "Car Talk" on NPR) as he seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of this whole topic.

Maybe he could have guest presenters alongside him like Mike Jones and others.

I guess what I am trying to say is that even a non-ATM'er (so far) can really appreciate the generosity of Art and many others found in here.

Thanks.

Morris I am indeed flattered! Your generous comments oblige me to remind you that most everything I know, I have learned from others who were equally generous to me. I'm simply passing it on.

Tinkerers, sculptors, composers, teachers, lovers, pets, strangers on subways, and, most important, spirited musicians on 125th Street and Lenox Avenue with a passion for self expression.

I've led an eclectic life and although I did not know it at the time, have been living life "out loud" in the tradition of Joseph Campbell who counseled "Follow your bliss!". George Lucas was one of Joe's best friends and look what happened!

That quote is as good an excuse as anyone can have for leading a whimsical and undisciplined existence, driven only by passion, being present and attracted by insatiable curiosity, a desire to have fun and be happy, no matter what the circumstances.

I thirst for novelty and get giddy drunk at the idea of creating a machine that does something differently.

I am the man in Robert Pirsig's "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" . Possessed by "Arete" he abhors specialization in any one narrow field, and instead focuses on specializing in life itself.

I am a noisy drum, mimicking Eckhart Tolle, kicking the can of curiosity to see where it lands.

If I live to be a million years old, I will never, ever be bored!

Thanks for the kind and generous words.
