On page 100 of the January issue of S&T, there is a photograph of NCG 7331, with some nearby galaxies called the "Deerlick Neighborhood". Has anybody seen these? I tried to spot them on 12/31, but with no success. I even ran a Google search on the name and it came up with nothing.

Yes I have, at a semi-dark site (limiting mag 5) and my 18". The smaller galaxies above NGC7331 in the photo are also know as the 'fleas'. Their numbers are: NGC7335, 7336, 7337 & 7340. The group at the lower left in the photo are know as Stephen's Quintet. I could not see this group, a much darker sky is required. Try 'Deerlick group' for your goggle search, I came up with many hits. good luck and clear skies

Okay...
I ran a Google search on 'Deerlick group' and came up with these galaxies:
NGC7340, NGC7337, NGC7335, NGC7336, NGC7331, NGC3727& NGC 7326.
Photos are on these pages:

Many thanks! The next clear night, I'll see if I can spot these.
