      #2089845 - 01/02/08 12:52 PM

Does anybody know if there is a Celestron or after-market pier extension for a CG-4 mount?

Hi,

This is what you are looking for:

I used this on a CG4 mount without modifications.

Clear skies.

I'd seen that Orion pier and was wondering if it would work. Thanks!

I should clarify (I was in a hurry before), that I'm certain it will work on the new(er) CG4, the one with the 2" tubular legs. I can't say for certain whether the earlier version of this mount is a good fit.

When you say the newer CG4, it sounds like you're referring to the mount that accompanies the XLT series, i.e. Omni XLT 102-120-150, etc.

Yes?

Thanks. I'll add the pier extension to my list of possible alternatives for raising my eyepiece position up off the deck.
