I want to mount a camera behind the LED/KE so I can capture images of mirrors being tested with both Ronchi and KE
The 8mm minicam I was using is too expensive a device to tie up and my SONY Cybershot won't bring live images into the PC.
If any of you have used an inexpensive digital camera like a web cam and have gotten good results I would like to know which one you used.
Thanks

Art,
Webcams are pretty limited and except for Firewire models (Apple application usually) the video is compressed which loses you a lot of gradation. Unless you want to go with digital machine vision equipment (I did) a good compromise is a standard TV camera (aka security camera) with C-mount lens and a frame grabber for the PC. You can get all this stuff at a good price easily on eBay. Or just spring for the Firewire webcam (various manufacturers - like this or this) and save some aggravation...
Best, Mark
