Scott,

Very nice sketch. This is about the way I see it in my 10" scope.

Scott,

Thank you for your first rendering of this impressive open cluster in Gemini. It is not easy to record this spectacular cluster. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Yay! You've done a great job and will improve with each sketch/observation. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Did you use black paper and white pencil, or did you invert the sketch after scanning?

Great first M35 sketch Scott! Star positions and magnitudes look right on. Nice presentation. Keep up the good work!

Nicely done, Scott! Rich star clusters like M-35 can be challenge to put to paper. You've captured the triangular nature of this object very well!

White sketching pad, 2B pencil. The smudging is unfortunately from my gloved hand. It was 8 degrees (F) at the time. Somebody forgot to put the tips in about how to sketch when you can't breathe without fogging glasses up...

My "scanner" is a digital SLR. Hence the slight lightening on the lower left corner - the lighting in the room wasn't as even as I'd hoped. Photoshop Elements (still 1.0) did the inversion and levels work.

I'm afraid I can't help you out there. I only wear reading glasses, and then it just for inside when I'm working for any length of time on the computer or things like that. I have a hard enough time not frosting up the EP from breathing on it.
