The ETX forum members are doing amazing things with their scopes. Here is what I have done with my ETX-60. I have converted it to a dedicated solar scope by sandwiching Baader film between the objective lens elements. This makes it a failsafe solar scope for public solar viewing. Works Great! I also installed a 3-1/2" 6-32 machine screw through the lens cap that functions as a sun finder. I find the weak link in these scopes are the eyepieces, the f/5 scopes need better eyepiece than they are supplied with.
