Finaly, here in Latvia the weather got much better and so I could get on to photos of deepsky objects.
I used ED80 on EQ-6 with guide scope of 200/1000 newton and EQMOD for control and PHD for guiding.
For imaging I used Canon EOS 400D, but as I see, it is not enough for red spectrum, is there any modificiations I can do with this camera (adding IR filter)? I red, that it could be done, if I take out the cleaning system only.
Here is NGC2244 Rosette, 15x5min, 5darks, 20bias, processed with Maxim DSRL and Adobe CS2.

Actually, you don't "ADD" an IR filter.. You REMOVE the one that is on the camera already..
There are a few websites that show how to do the Mod...

UPS (I dont actualy know anything about that IR filter). Is it hard to do it, has the camera have to be sent somewhere our it could be done by user?
Also, is the process just to remove the filter our to make an replacement with other filter (like OIII or Deepsky filter)? And what about negative effects of this process?

Valdis, fabulous images you have here, thanks for posting them!

Thanks, Mark!
Yes, it's NGC 898, a 1.778' × 0.427' arc-second dimension small Spiral Galaxy, with it's magnitude about 13,1.
Added a closer 1:1 pixel croped look up.

Nice images, especially the Rosette. Even without a lot of red, it shows good details.
