Hi all... I may be beating a dead horse, but having some time on my hands, I'd like to replace my EQ2 legs.. If someone has plans or links, I'd appreciate some help, have done some prelim measurements and using existing hardware when possible... Using in AZ mode right now with a 102st.. but heavy 2" diag. and Antares SW Eps add the weight to the back end, thanks in advance,,, lots of snow and cloud for a few days , soooo, help!

Check the ATM, Optics & DIY forum for info as there are plenty of threads there on DIY wooden tripods. I made some with great results and not so much work. m2

A lesson I keep learning is the the geometry of a design contributes more to the strength and stiffness of a load bearing structure than the materials used.
I urge you to design a truss shaped leg for your tripod. The wide it is at the top, the better it will be.
