Dimension information on DSLR's
      #2138302 - 01/22/08 03:12 PM

Hi, first post in this forum.

There a few of us working on some imaging scopes in ATM. Can someone point me to a webpage that has dimensional information on DSLR's? Specifically I'm looking for where the chip plane is with respect to the lens mount on various cameras. Is it a standardized dimension?
How about for a Canon XTI, or XT (350D) ?

Does anyone show a cross section of the camera with the chip and lens mounting flange?

Thanks

John

It would be different for every camera model... The Stiletto website shows how to measure this for adjusting their focuser...

John,

It's called "Flange to focal plane distance".
For Canon EOS mount, it's 44mm.

Google to find others.
(If you need something specific, I have the info.)

Found this web page with the distances for many cameras:

http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/eosfaq/manual_focus_EOS.html

Ooh -- even better - on Wikipedia:
