Expensive. I've seen prices for the 8x32's advertised at around $1900.00, larger sizes priced accordingly.

Some bino’s from Miyauchi 5x32 Binon's up through Garrett 20x110 Signature's,
Some telescopes from a Stellarvue 80mm NHNG up through a couple of 8” reflectors…
And a wonderful 4.25" Delmarva Shiefspiegler!
Some good friends, made here on C/N.
Oh- several cats and a wonderful wife!
Anyone want a cat???? :-O

I think they can beat Zeiss, Swarovski and Leica.
My first chance to check it out from here is some months away, September or August.
Maybe someone here is travelling to Las Vegas next week?
That would be very appreciated

At the risk of stating the obvious- I don't guess anyone will know until someone outside of Nikon gets their hands on a pair. One thing for sure, at that price- I doubt if Nikon didn't have building the ultimate bino they could in their sights. I think it'd be a safe bet they own a few pairs of the competition!

I have not posted on here much if at all since registering a year or two ago but have always enjoyed the information that you folks provide. I do post quite frequently on some of the other optics discussions forums on the net though and have been following the discussion of the Nikon EDGs since their debut at the ATA show this month.

I plan on purchasing a pair once the production units hit the shelves (May from what I hear) and look forward to comparing them directly to my FLs. I hope to comment on the comparison at that point.

If anyone has any further information on them I would love to hear it. Thanks.

Henry Link has posted some specifications (E-R, weight, field-of-view, close focus) on a thread on Birdforum: http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=103957&page=5

There are also a couple of photos on this thread.

Hi Frank, I want to welcome you to CN. I still use the Yosemite. I am interested in more information on the New Nikon myself.

Kimmo,

Thanks. Any chance you could repost the info? The server here at work will not let me access that site. That is one of the reasons I do not frequent it as much as I once did.

Steve,

Glad to hear the Yosemites are still working for you. I think that was a cherry pair I sent you.

I definitely want to get my hands on a pair of the EDGs. May seems so far off though.
