How much free space around a mirror do you need to safely install it? With a baffle at the front of the box (13" diameter hole) and a 12.5" mirror, how do you get the mirror and its cell safely into the collimation bolt holes? I had been planning on a 15" or 15 1/2" cube of 1/2" Baltic birch for the box.
Thanks again, Clay

if you leave an inch around the mirror (so a 12.5" mirror goes into an ID 14.5" box) you are all good

How do you actually get the mirror in place, Dave? A sling? The top baffle opening is only 13"- not much room to get your hands in there with the mirror. Clay

you tilt the mirror in, and your hands go towards the corners.
OR on a mirror that size, you could put the mirror in the cell and install the entire thing from the bottom.

Clay, pretty much for sure you will want to put the mirror on its' cell and install from the bottom. Just as Dave says. Your cell should be removable from the bottom anyway, so that will be your best option. Keith
