I think I'm missing out on something here, using my Mylar filter, the sun's a circle of light with no definition. Celestron's site has the UHC/LPR filter which is also an "H-Alpha passband (656nm)" filter. I take it that's what I need. IF so, anyone have one 4sale, a Celestron 94123? Thanks, guys/gals. BTW I'm not looking to photograph it (just yet, anyway)

No. The UHC is for use at night on nebulae and has no application for solar use. They are totally different animals.

Observers are posting with a lot more detail than I'm seeing, so do I need a PST to see more? Thanks, All

That's because Mylar is for viewing the photosphere. At the moment, there's not much going on to see in that "layer" of the Sun.
As Don said "No. The UHC is for use at night on nebulae and has no application for solar use. They are totally different animals. "
To view the chromosphere, where there is quite a bit going on that you see from the other posts, you need a narrow bandwidth filter such as H-alpha and I'm afraid the UHC is for night time viewing, not solar.
So to answer your question, yes, a PST would be a good scope for you for viewing h-alpha.
