Looking for a 1 5/8" shaft for my Byers Drive new
      #2156720 - 01/30/08 07:41 PM

Hi All,

I am looking for a 1 5/8" shaft for my Byers 6" drive.

It is a Full Dia gear and motor, I have had it since the 1980's.

I did have a shaft and bearings for it but during a move cross cuntry (NM to MI) the shaft and Bearings were lost.

I haven't been able to replace them, and their are no local Machine shopes to go to.

Any Ideas on what to Do?

Alan

Alan,

Go to the website www.mscdirect.com and look on page 1791 of their catalog. You will find 304 stainless steel rod (terminology used for "shafting") in 1-5/8 inch diameter. Precision ground rod does not appear to be available in this diameter ... but standard rod might work for you.
