Rosette in Starfield new
      #2161506 - 02/01/08 08:30 PM Attachment (57 downloads)

Got another decent night so gave the Rosette a shot with the Canon 20Da, IDAS LPS, WO 80mm with FFII, guided on Atlas mount with PHD/Eqmod. Image consists of 30x240sec ISO 800 images stacked in DSS. Digital development in Images Plus and tweaked in Photoshop CS3 with a little Gradient Exterminator and Noels Tools.

The resized crop doesn't do the Rosette justice. Please take a look at the full frame image here:

Wow this is beautiful. I really like the colours and you have some sharp detail in the dark nebulous portions

Excellent image of the Rosette. The sharp contrast in the dark blobs is the kind you'd expect to see with a narrrowband H-alpha filter.

Reprocessed a close-in crop. Amazed how much detail a little refractor can achieve.

The resized one has too many artifacts.

This is better:

I'll second the second shot even though the first is darn good. Second seems to have a bit more depth to it.
