i'm not sure this is where to ask but, since the original is on film,well.....
i have several wide-fields i would like to point out the messier's and other objects of interest. label them and draw a arrow or pointer to the object. how do i go about this? i have at my disposal:photoshop,paint,infanview. i'm sure there is a way in photoshop, but....

Use Photoshop's LINE tool (located just below the TEXT tool). Once selected, you can use the Line Options to adjust line thickness and add arrows. These options are located at the top of the window. The Weight option is the thickness of the line, the other settings adjust the size and shape of the arrows.
In the following screen-shot I had the line selected - which is why it is all "jaggy". Once you deselect it, it looks great, and can be adjusted as any other layer, such as adjusting transparency, adding drop shadows, bevelling edges etc. Then you can add text with the text tool.

thanks clownfish. i used the line tool but the arrow was way too big. i knew there had to be a way to adjust it but i could not figure it out. and the "help" wasn't. thanks again tommy
