Welcome to the Cloudy Nights Reader’s Gallery Submission Forum. Each month, we ask Cloudy Nights members to submit their best DSO photos in this thread.
For your photo entries, please provide a description that includes: Your First and Last Name; Date of photo (can include the time); Description (title) of the image; Relevant photo information (exposure length and equipment used).
This is important! If you don't supply ALL information, we won't be able to use your photograph!!!!
Please note: due to copyright issues, all photos MUST be original (If they aren't then you will be banned from this section of the forum!).
To facilitate the judging we respectfully ask that you not enter comments in the photo thread. You will find a commentary thread for the DSO photo entries. Thanks and good luck!

I guess I'll go first:
This is NGC 6946 along with NGC 69339 and NGC 6946's supernova (it's the star arrowed).
Imaged October 10, 2004 from my backyard in West Chester, Ohio. ST-8XE through a Takahashi FS102 on a Takahashi EM200 mount.
L: 12 x 5 minutes binned 1x1
R: 3 x 5 minutes binned 2x2
G: 3 x 5 minutes binned 2x2
B: 4 x 5 minutes binned 2x2
Images average combined in CCDSoft. Final processing in Photoshop.
The color combine washed out the colors (data is pretty weak to begin with), so I resorted to a rather aggressive boost in color saturation.
Comments and processing tips welcome.

Eric, please reduce the size to 800x600 or post a link to the original. Great shot but a BIG picture.
