A very blustery day in Selsey today with fast moving clouds causing lots of difficulties. In the end I had to settle for some quick grabs using my H-a and CaK PSTs.

Pete, your CaK images made me take a very close look at that 70mm Cak scope on astromart right now.

Hi Colin,
CaK is a great light to image in. The shot above is compromised due to the poor conditions today but when the weather is good, the CaK PST really delivers.
Take a look at: http://www.digitalsky.org.uk/solar/2007/cak/Full-sequence_AR10963_matrix_800.jpg
Or even this one: http://www.digitalsky.org.uk/solar/2007/Cak/Full-sequence_AR10963_slow.gif

Solid (but very fast moving...around 60mph winds) clouds here..
Agreed fully, the CaK scopes are great for imaging, as Pete shows!

Popped out today (12th Feb) but not much going on to be honest. After nearly being lifted off my seat by the wind, the session was over in record time

Time travel as well as imaging expertise...
12th Feb :-)
It was pants today though...between the disc being blank, 2 tiny proms, and 80 mph winds...

Those are great shots. F/50!? You really have that PST dialed in. I am really disappointed that the CaK PSTs have been discontinued. I wonder if they will surface on Astromart from time to time?
I think right now I need to improve my imaging skills on the h-alpha PST before I can use CaK. I wish I could see it better then it would be easier to justify.
In very carefully watching your and others pictures I have realized that getting the focus and exposure nailed is the highest priority. When I look at the data sets from my first day imaging they are all overexposed and many are out of focus. Then when processing less is more. Since I was trying to correct for problems I ended up relying on the wavelets too much.
I can't wait for another day to play with imaging. It takes enough longer than visual that I really have to have a good part of the day to myself.
I really look forward to your posts, Thank you!

At F50, focus is not hard...so long as you have a perfectly aligned prism in the PST, otherwise, you will never ever get "focus".
CaK just snaps in to focus very well, and is much more tolerant of poor seeing than H-A
