Micro Spot?
      #2260197 - 03/15/08 10:13 PM Attachment (30 downloads)

Did anyone else see a small spot on the Sun today. I saw it in K-line and switched to my h-alpha scope to find a bright area on the disk. Attached is an image I took of it. It could be a new spot developing or leaving. Clear Skyz, LA

Nice shot, Larry!

In between high haze and poor seeing I managed a few glimpses of that bright spot, as well as the loop prom you captured so nicely.

Thanks!

Jim

This is the kind of activity I am waiting for. We need to see higher latitude magnetic effects before we can call solar minimum over.

Thanks everyone. Here's a full disk image of the Sun today. There were some cool loops out there too. Clear Skyz, LA

I could see this spot yesterday in visible light. It's cloudy today here, so is it still visible?

Yes I saw it, only with my DS PST. With only the PST, it's hard to notice it, barely though...

I believe that it's there in my shots of the previous days, but the condition here is too bad to be really meaningful.

Great shots BTW!
